Headquarters, Inc Announces TIP-50 training in Sedgwick, Johnson, and Ellis Counties

Addressing Suicide RiskBased on SAMHSA's TIP 50 for substance use treatment providers

This presentation was adapted from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP 50). It is geared towards substance use treatment professionals. Participants will learn about the link between substance use and suicide, gain insight into their personal attitudes about suicide, learn warning signs for suicide risk and will be able to perform a GATE intervention. (Gather Information, Access supervision, Take responsible action and Extend the action).

This training is presented free of charge with support from KDADS and the Kansas Prevention Collaborative by Monica Kurz, Director of the Kansas Suicide Prevention Resource Center

A certificate for 4 hours of training will be provided to participants for use in reporting continuing education.
